Good bye 2014-welcome 2015

I'm not big on New Years resolutions but I'm all about gal setting. With that in mind I've been thinking about what I want to accomplish this year.
1) send birthday cards to friends and family
2) document the year win a monthly photo- maybe on the first of every month
3) continue writing and maybe hopefully self publish another book this year
4) complete the CHPN certification for work
That's all. That's enough. I don't want to stress myself out with a mile long to do list.
What is on your to do list for the new year??

Getting ready for 2015.

I am basically organized but I didn't take the time this year to keep track of things I should. I'm working on getting ready for 2015. I'm going to be down for 6 weeks after my surgery but I still need to keep track of bills and business stuff as well as takin time to enjoy my family.
I'm still working on the "perfect" planner. I have come to see that I love my daily planner but some stuff doesn't need to go everywhere with me.
So it looks like I will have my personal planner, a home/family planner, and a business planner. I'm working on creating all the forms I need as well as scheduling time to monitor it all.
Hopefully I can have it all in place by January 1st.

Handmade holiday

This year, in an effort to save money and personalize Christmas I am making as many gifts as I can. I'm working on infinity scarves and boot cuffs right now. Next on the list is body wash, soaps, lotion and candles. I hope these turn out and I will be making samples this week just to try out the recipes before I actually give the gifts. I will be posting some pix here with simple instructions in case anybody else wants to make a handmade holiday too!

Planning my planner

I have been all over Pinterest lately trying to find a planner that fits all my needs. Maybe I'm too picky or maybe it doesn't exist. I finally decided the best thing to do is to make a list of what I want and possibly create my own.
•a weekly page that starts with Sunday and has sections so I can keep track of work, Jazz, 31, etc
• a daily list of things to do similar to a bullet journal
•monthly pages
• bills
• business info for 31 and  O2

That's the minimum of what I need. I'm sure there are other things too but the basics to start with. Tomorrow I will try to see if I can create my dream planner :-)

What to write???

I have been wanting to write a book about my life/divorce/craziness because I really think that people can relate. However, since my ex still isn't giving up (after almost 5 years) it's hard to write a story that doesn't really have an ending. But the it's to write something is there.  Do I try for something new, revamp something old, or finish something else?? I definitely have the time now...what to do? It's dilemmas like this that actually keep me from being productive.

Waiting, waiting and waiting

Sitting at the OB/GYN office. No, I am definitely not pregnant. But my uterus thinks it is. I'm waiting to see if there will be "girl surgery" into near future. I was taken back on time for the ultrasound, which took a total of about 5 minutes. Now 15 minutes later I am still waiting for the doctor. Fun times in the castle today :-)

Getting Organized...or how I tried to get my crap together this week

I've spent a significant amount of time perusing the internet (ie scoping out pinterest) this week looking for what I believe will be the perfect planner for me.  Thank goodness for Clean Mama. She had almost exactly what I was looking for and a whole lot more. Also MsWenduhh because she has a printable paycheck budget form that will work better than my current budgeting tool. :-)

My plan is to create a binder that will be part home/family, part Thirty One business and part Origami Owl business, which will also be part journal/bullet journal.  I'm piecing together tons of pages that I think, ultimately will work wonders for me. I will still have my personal-goes everywhere with me, but I can update the binder once a week or as needed to keep everything in one place.

This whole new organizing system will start for me October 1.  I will update here when the binder is done and also update throughout the month of October as to how it is going.  I will share what works and what doesn't work as well as tips and tricks I pick up along the way.

Along with this new found/created organizing system I'm hoping to get things on track for paying off bills, having regular date nights with Prince Charming and scheduling some special time with Jazz and Lyric.

So now I am feeling better about my future or organizing.  If you know me, you know organizing is a thing that I have always done, but I can do it better.

Hopefully this is the start of something wonderful.

Gathering My Thoughts....

I can't say that I have an actual routine down now that I am done with school, but I am trying.  I feel like there are so many things that I want to do, and I LOVE to make to do lists, but I'm still feeling a tad unorganized.

Yesterday I found a thing called bullet journaling.  I was so excited because it seemed just up my alley.  But the more I looked at it, the more I realized that it won't work for me as it is suggested.  So, of course, I will be tweaking it to work for me.

I'm also on the hunt for the perfect planner.  I have a vision in my head, but can't seem to find it in the store or online.  I'm kind of computer savvy but not enough to make exactly what I want so I will continue to look high and low until I find it.  What I need is a monthly page and then a 2 page weekly spread.  Across the top I need the days of the week starting with Sunday, down the left side I need boxes so I can fill in things like work, Jazz, bills, errands, fun, etc.  If you see anything like this, please feel free to share.

I'm also working on revamping/reorganizing my office.  I took all the school stuff out so that I can better manage my Thirty One business and Jazz's Origami Owl business.  Again, I have a basic vision for this but it is taking me time to make it happen. Good thing I have three days off this week.  :-)
I want to return to writing and have been thinking about it for months.  I have a couple of story ideas, fiction and non-fiction, but I haven't been motivated.  I think it's because the office is a mess.

Anyway, my plan is definitely to get back into blogging regularly (again at least weekly) and to share some upcoming projects with you.  I'm hoping to make this Christmas very homemade gifty, but some people will get 31 and O2 gifts because, duh, that's what we do.  Pinterest is my friend when it comes to gift ideas.  Guess I better do more making and less Pinning.

Thanks for stopping by and I promise to blog before May...hehehe

Hello!!

Hi, bloggy world!  You may remember me as Aim from Random Thoughts.  Well a lot has changed in the past few years and so I decided I needed a new blog to go with all the other newness.  First and foremost, I got remarried to my Prince Charming.  He is the best hubby ever and I'm sure there will be plenty of stories to share.

Second most exciting is that I finally graduated from nursing school!!  It was a long haul, but definitely worth the work.  I take boards next month so I will be studying as much as I can and probably venting here...LOL

Lyric graduated from high school and moved away to college, then can back, then registered for a new college, which starts next week, but we are still playing phone/email tag with the financial aid department...fun times.

Jazz has started high school and is doing exceptionally well.  She has continued with dance and is looking forward to trying out for dance team for sophmore year.

I have a few ideas for what I want to do with this blog so we will see how it goes.  I'm smart enough to know that I won't blog everyday, but at least once a week.  I will hopefully will be posting about new crafts, my writing process as I write my first non-fiction book and I would like to do do some sort of journaling (even though we all know that a blog is a journal of sorts).  Once I get this up and running I will probably do guest bloggers and such as well.  I will just have to see where this adventure takes me.  I hope that many will come along for the ride.  I can't guarantee fun but I can guarantee it will be a ride.

Here's to blogging in 2014.
